Russia Hopes for US Civil War After Ukraine Lifeline
Dmitry Medvedev, is hoping for another civil war that "would finally lead to the inglorious break up of the 21st Century's evil empire, the United States of America".

After months of uncertainty and partisan brinksmanship, President Biden signed a $95 billion foreign aid bill Wednesday. $61 billion of it is going to Ukraine to provide dire assistance for Europeās largest democracyās fight of its life against Russia.
After signing the legislation, President Biden explained:
Over two years, Russia has been responsible for a brutal campaign against Ukraine. Theyāve killed tens of thousands of Ukrainians, bombed hospitalsāāādeliberately picked them outāāābombed hospitals, kindergartens, grain silos; tried to plunge Ukraine into a cold and dark winter by striking their power grid.
Ukrainians have foughtāāāthe Ukrainians have fought back, defending their country and their families with extraordinary courage.
Against such a larger military, Ukraine has regained over half the territory that Russia took from them in this invasion. And they won important victories against Russiaās navy. But make no mistake about: Theyāre a fighting force with the will and the skill to wināāāthe will and the skill to win.
To get a sense of how consequential this is, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman and head of the United Russia party, Dmitry Medvedev, is hoping for another civil war that āwould finally lead to the inglorious break up of the 21st Centuryās evil empire, the United States of Americaā.
He added on Telegram:
I cannot with all sincerity not wish the United States to plunge into a new civil war as quickly as possible.
Republican āPutin caucusā members find themselves in a precarious position over where their allegiances lie.Ā
President Biden commented:
For months, while MAGA Republicans were blocking aid, Ukraine has been running out of artillery shells and ammunition.
In February, a former FBI informant republicans held up as a witness in their quixotic mission to impeach President Bidenās turned out to be a Russian mole. Alexander Smirnov, the Oversight Committeeās āstar witness,ā lied to the FBI when he alleged Burisma paid Hunter and Joe Biden $5 million each. Donald Trump appointed the federal prosecutor who debunked this claim.
While there are voices, conservative, and, sadly, progressive calling for āa negotiated peace,ā other nationsā autocrats are watching how the United States reacts to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Others understand that allowing Russia to run roughshod over Ukraine is giving Putin a green light to march into any other country he wants. After all, if Western allies abandon Ukraine, why shouldnāt they also abandon other European democracies under the guise of āpeaceā?
Biden addressed that when he signed the bill.
āIf Putin attacks a NATO Ally, like heās attacking Ukraine today,ā Biden said, āweād have no choice but to come to their aid, just like our NATO Allies came to our aid after the September 11th attacks here.ā
Last month, Dmitry Medvedev ruled out peace talks and presented a map on which āUkraine is definitely Russia,ā altering the borders of other countries, including Poland and Romania.
In a speech, Medvedev asserted:
Our geostrategic space has been indivisible since the time of the ancient Russian state. This concept must disappear forever. Ukraine is definitely Russia.
Taking a dig at the United States and Ukraineās other allies, he added:
Had Ukraine escaped the stupidest trap set by the United States and its allies in order to counter our country with Ukraineās assistance and use this very āanti-Russia entity,ā things might have been different.
What ātankiesā (those calling for Ukraineās surrender) fail to realize is that supporting Ukraine is preventing world war three.
Chinese president Xi Jinping just met with Putin in October to ostensibly discuss trade at a time when there is growing concern China may invade Taiwan. Like Putinās claim Ukraine is really historically part of Russia and not a separate countryāāāand the largest democracy in Europe, not coincidentallyāāāXi claims the island democracy of Taiwan is really part of mainland China and should be āunited by forceā if necessary. Heās already asserted he is prepared to go to war with western powers over it.
Weāve seen this before. Its old trope tin-pot despots trot out to try to gin up nationalism and justification for aggression against a politically fragile and less militarily advanced target, like Adolf Hitler claiming Austria and Czechoslovakia were historically part of āgreater Germany.ā
The main thing preventing Xi from going ahead with it is international condemnation of Russia. If Ukraineās western allies take their eyes off Ukraineās fight for survival, it will provide Xi and other dictators permission to follow suit with their own invasions. If we just stay out of it, as many insist we ought to do, it will be emboldening autocrats all over the world at a time when more democracies are backsliding toward authoritarian regimes.
Supporting Ukraine is preventing world war three.
Russia will not stop at Ukraine unless it is stopped.
It is our duty to defend democracy wherever countries struggle to maintain it, not just for their own survival but ours as well.
As President Biden added:
Thatās why weāre supporting and surging support now to Ukraine: to stop Putin from drawing the United States into a war in Europe and in the future.
