Some good news on the coronavirus front--but only for our European and Canadian listeners. The European Union has pledged to raise $8 billion for the development of a coronavirus vaccine and treatment. The United States, though, of course, has pledged a whopping nothing. Zero. This just in time for a new emerging coronavirus strain believed to be be more contagious and virulent than the one plaguing us now.
Bob Dylan dropped another new song, "False Prophet", this week, and announced his first album of original material in eight years, "Rough & Rowdy Ways", will be released June 19.
The main story: Canada this week banned assault weapons just two weeks after suffering its worst mass shooting in its history.
So what's our problem?
Oh, that's right. The NRA. The gun lobby. The Supreme Court. The misinterpretation of the Second Amendment, with the word "well-regulated" written right into it. I understand Canada is a whole separate country without a 2-A equivalent, but are we just going to accept "thoughts and prayers" as the cost of being Americans?
